About Barcelona…

“Barcelona is something else, isn’t it? There you have the Mediterranean, the spirit, the adventure…what a pleasure it has been to meet that air and passion!”
Frederico Garcia Lorca

Barcelona is Spain`s second city and the capital of Catalunya and has a population of around five million people. The city is today one of the world’s leading tourist, economic and cultural centres as well as housing one of Europe’s busiest ports. After Paris, London & Rome, it is the fourth most visited city in Europe (16th in the world), attracting 5 million visitors annually.
The city was regenerated prior to the Olympics in 1992, offering a new port, new housing and new roads. In recent years, Barcelona has become synonymous with its highly succesful football team FC Barcelona and its stadium Camp Nou.
Not only are tourists attracted to its beautiful architecture, made famous by Antoni Gaudí, its exciting array of shops, its bustling cafés and restaurants, its ecclectic art galleries but the city also offers fine beaches, popular all year round. The city is also only  a few hours drive to the French border and the ski slopes of the Pyrenees.

Barcelona is a city which is always re-inventing itself. Whether you choose to come twice or ten times, there will always be something new and exciting to discover. It’s an adventure which should not be missed…
